Can anyone join the Maesteg Ramblers?
We have at the moment 23 members, the age varies from early 20’s to late 70’s, we have single people as well as families, all are welcome. The walks are designed to accommodate the needs of every one taking part. You are welcome to come along on any of the walks.
How do I join?
It’s easy, contact the leader of one of the advertised walks, whose contact number is on the sheet or on the Events programme page. You will be informed when and where the walk will start, how long, how arduous it will be and where the pick up point or the meeting place will be.
How much does it cost ?
There is no charge for walking with the Ramblers , but if you walk regularly you will be asked to join the Ramblers Association, membership includes discounts, e.g. senior citizens plus there is a 10% discount in several suppliers of walking equipment. A Regional and National magazine with information for walking with any Rambler groups in the U.K.is delivered at quarterly intervals.

What clothing is required?
It is recommended to wear appropriate footwear, (e.g. good walking boots/shoes and socks). It is wise to carry extra clothing such waterproofs and a jumper as the weather can change very suddenly, especially on higher ground.
On a long walk you should bring enough food and drink with you for a number of breaks, less on a shorter walk.
How do I get to the starting point?
The usual meeting place for the Sunday walk is the Maesteg Town car park, Wednesday walk at Tesco park you can use your own transport or you can arrange to be picked up and taken there.
